What you’ll learn in a typical day at Gyan Yog Breath Yoga School
The morning begins with cleansing your body’s energy channels (nadis) to improve concentration and eliminate toxins. During the yoga teacher training, you will learn all six shatkarma (six actions) techniques.
The daily pranayama class aims to improve the functioning of your respiratory system which will simultaneously improve all other body systems as well. During the teacher training, you will learn about and experience the importance of the breath, slow and diaphragmatic breathing. Most of the common diseases nowadays are related to irregular and short breathing which results in stress and fear. Through breath control (pranayama), retention and transformational breathing, you will be able to expand your breath capacity and release tension. You will have the opportunity to teach Pranayama as well.
Tea and Snack
Enjoy a wark cup of heabal tea
Hatha Yoga is also known as the gentle, smooth, yet challenging root of yoga. As the foundation of all yoga styles that we know today, hatha yoga gives you a strong base in order to teach various styles later on. The morning hatha yoga practice aims to build up strength, increase flexibility and most importantly connect your body, mind and soul. Your asana teacher will pick you up from where you are at and design diverse and rewarding classes. You will become familiar with the Sanskrit names, sequences and modifications.
Re-charge the temple of your soul, your body, with a nourishing breakfast. For breakfast you will be served oats with home-made coconut or soy milk, fresh fruits, dalia, poha, bread, home-made peanut butter or aloo paratha.
All of our body systems are strongly connected. In yoga, perfect health means that all of our body systems work in harmony. During the anatomy classes, you will learn about each systems function and relation to yoga. You will understand that yoga postures and pranayama have positive effects on your physical, mental, emotional and energetic well-being. Your teacher will demonstrate various asanas while explaining about contraction and relaxation of muscles, tendons and joints.
The Alignment classes are designed to give you time to repeat the Sanskrit names, learn how to align your students and become familiar with the benefits and contra-indications of each posture.
We love to design interactive classes in which you can ask questions, discuss your thoughts and doubts, share your inner conflicts and grow together with your class mates and teachers. The daily philosophy class will help you to understand about your mind, thought process and remove confusion and unanswered questions. Studying the vedic scriptures, origin and ethics of yoga is a necessary part that can help you to understand about your practice, life and ongoing transformation. Becoming familiar with the philosophy of yoga opens up infinite possibilities to experience spirituality, develop your communication skills and refine your perception.
The Ayurveda aspect of the course aims to give you a broad understanding about the pitta, vata, kaphadoshas and how to balance your body using the right combinations, properties and nutrition. This class is held by our gold medallist Dr Vipul Arya.
Nourish your body with well-selected vegetables, proteins, grains and salads to restore. All meals are prepared with much love and ayurvedic herbs that aid in digestion.
Contribute to a clean and healthy environment. You get to re-plant new plants (roses, tulsi, flowers, aloe vera& more), do social work with slum children or paint/create.
Break & Study Time
Take a nap, reflect, study or explore the beautiful city with your new yogi friends.
Elevate your yoga practice to more advanced dimensions by getting hands-on adjustment, individual attention and clear explanations. The use of props such as blocks, belts, pillows, bolsters and walls aims to refine your posture, alignment and understanding of asana.
Besides Hatha Yoga, you will also learn Ashtanga Yoga, the sequences of Vinyasa Flow.
Emotional Blockage® or Meditation
The stress of the modern lifestyle can create tension and suppression of emotions. Through Emotional Blockage® you will learn how to release these blockages and have your energy flow at its maximum again. Remove past trauma, pain and repetitive negative thoughts through this unique course module introduced by Swami Bipin Gyan.
The Meditation practices focus on keeping yourself grounded and your emotional freedom balanced. You will cover various techniques such as Transformational Meditation, Chakra Meditation, Mantra Meditation, Om Meditation, Silent Meditation, Candle Light Meditation and much more. You will be able to teach Meditation as well during the course.
